Greetings fellow green space protectors!
The annual 2Rivers Festival is a forum to showcase and celebrate our two beautiful rivers and to engage our whole community in imagining how each one of us can become a vital participant in the regeneration of our river ecosystems. This year, the discussion event will be focused on growing the Greenbelt to include public lands along our river corridors here in Guelph.

Growing the Greenbelt – Guelph Town Hall Meeting will be held on Thursday June 11, 2015.
6:00-7:00pm: meet and greet community groups
7:00-8:30pm: keynote speakers
8:30-9:00pm: curated Q&A

Our Speakers will be:
Hugh Whitely “A History of Greenspace Planning in Guelph”
David Donnelly “Policy Gaps, Policy Enforcement and Do The Math on Development Presentation”
Faisal Moola “Economic/Environmental Benefits of the Greenbelt”
Purpose: to hear from experts on the value of expanding the Greenbelt, the benefits it will bring to Guelph, and how the threats from inappropriate development are putting our nature, source drinking water, farmlands and climate at risk; to provide citizens with information about how they can urge their municipalities and townships to include public lands along river systems and farmland in the Ontario Greenbelt.
Start Time:  6:00 pm
Date: 2015-06-11
End Time:  9:30 pm
